Intriguing Red Phantom Orange River Quartz Cluster (M9476) $60.00The Orange River is a natural boarder
between South Africa and Namibia. The Orange River originates Drakensberg
Mountains and covers a distance of 1800 kilometers through South Africa,
flowing through the southern part of the Kalahari and Namib Desert before it
exits into the Atlantic Ocean. However in dry years, this river it does not
reach the sea. The areas where Orange River crystals are mined are remote and
barren. Like the river name, most of the crystals have a beautiful orange glow
to them. A vast array of formations have been found along this river such as
elestials, lovestar crystals, cascading elestial, with a variety of inclusions
including hematite. Sometimes they find completely unique formations, you just
never know what will show up. Recently smoky quartz and amethyst crystals have
been also found. Most of the crystals we acquire are from the Pella a small
village in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. The red phantoms of this beautiful cluster complete encase the crystals giving them beautiful sunset glow. Specks of hematite included matrix give the crystals a spotted appearance in places. Some of this matrix still clings to the exterior and has created some pockets in the quartz. A minor bruise is present on the apex of the main crystal, but there is no denying this beautiful group of crystals. They are from an old collection we found while in Tucson. We don't know exactly when it was mined, but it is not from one of the recent finds. They have an old soul energy that warms you from the inside.
The cluster measures 3.25" x 1.5" x 1.25" and weighs 2.6 oz. Red-phantom quartz crystals are rare.
The red phantom is used to stimulate the first three chakras, to combine the
energies in order to produce highly recognizable vitality directed toward
creativity, intellectual advancement, and intuitive endeavors. |
