While this crystal was sitting on my desk waiting for me to finish its page, I was stuck by just how beautiful the crystal is. The amethyst has a gemmy clarity at its termination is just radiant, even in low light. Picking it up you can see the amethyst color is in patches of light and dark, that fade into a uniformity when viewed at a distance. Light smoky phantoms accent the interior and are most noticeable at the base, where the elestial formations have been left in tact. While this crystal has been polished, there are still a few natural areas to preserve some of the natural formations of this gorgeous crystal. Near the termination a tiny water bubble can be found that bobs back and forth in a chamber not much bigger than the bubble. Vibrant red lepidocrocite inclusions can also be found along the base of the crystal, glowing a vibrant red.

The energy of this crystal is very joyous. It picks you up and helps you see the joy of the day. It infuses you with energy that will help you get out of bed and face the day. It relieves the stress of trying to get it all done at once by helping you to set realistic goals. There will always be stuff on your to-do list, so don't sweat the small stuff. Harlequin or Fire quartz is quartz containing red dots or strings of lepidocrocite. It provides a beautiful "dancing" energy, which when activated, stimulates the energy flow on all levels.

It can be used to stimulate the base chakra and to provide for a direct pathway between the base chakra, and the heart chakra; it can hence be used to direct and to intensify natural proclivities. Very occasionally, there are pockets of water with no bubble but a tiny floating inclusion.
