Heart of Green Rare Tanzanite/Tsavorite Chunk (M8327)

The combination of tanzanite and tsavorite is one I am excited to offer. Independent of each other, tanzanite and tsavorite are both very rare minerals in their own right. Tanzanite is the blue variety of zoisite that has become extremely scarce in recent years as the mine in the Arusha hills of Tanzania is being played out. Tanzanite is so highly prized that any available rough is being heat treated and cut into jewelry stones. Tsavorite, initially found near the Tsavor Game Preserve in Kenya, is a green member of the garnet family, its color attributed to traces of green vanadium. The formation of tanzanite and tsavorite is amazingly rare, and incredibly wonderful. These stones are from Kenya.

This unusual combination of zoisite and garnet is one that garnered my delight the first time I saw them. Jennifer gifted me a rough chunk of tanzanite and tsavorite more than a year ago, and it is one of my favorite personal stones. So you can imagine my joy when I came across these small chunks. Comprised of dark blues and deep greens, these stones are a treasure!

Tanzanite and tsavorite are both heart chakra stones, while the tanzanite also provides a link to the throat and third eye chakras. This combination speaks to me of joy, a connection between the heart and the mind, balancing intellect with love, fostering the growth of intuition. It helps one to use compassion in decision making, and to communicate with gentleness. Tanzanite and tsavorite will help one to discern the truth at the heart of a situation, to cut the shackles of fear that inhibit our minds, and to open ourselves to trust. If we free ourselves from fear and learn to trust, we can embrace prosperity with the knowledge that abundance is love.
