My recent shipment of Rubellite delivered a group of tourmaline specimens that have such a deep color that they can be perceived as red. Rubellite is the name given to pink tourmaline that bears traces of lithium in its chemistry. Because of that, Rubellite is very soothing to one’s emotions and even more so when the Rubellite is in a matrix of sparkly lavender lepidolite. But the depth of color to these tourmaline crystals brings their focus into the physical aspect, balancing the physical stress responses in the body. As our stress levels increase, our bodies acclimatize to the internalized tension and trigger a fight or flight response. These beautiful deep Rubellite and lepidolite pieces help defuse that ticking time bomb by helping to release that internalized tension so that we can back away gracefully from the precipice of over-reaction. This tourmaline has a tiny amount of white matrix clinging, unlike the others who have a lepidolite matrix.  There is a hint of gold to the deep pink of the tourmaline provided by a bit of iron staining.

The tourmaline measures 2.5" x 1.3" x 1.5" and weighs 2.1oz.

Tourmaline is also a very balancing stone, helping to balance the mind and chakras. It balances the two sides of the brain to enhance creativity and healing. Tourmaline is said to facilitate healing powers and protect from all dangers occurring on the physical plane. In addition, pink tourmaline focuses on the crown and heart chakras bringing forth the synthesis of love and spirituality. It assists in achieving peace, understanding, awareness, love, and trust.
