Kyanite is a beautiful mineral found most commonly found in vivid hues of blue with a silvery shimmer to the surface. It is commonly mined in Brazil, Netherlands and India, each with its own unique properties. Kyanite has an unusual hardness characteristic; lengthwise the hardness ranges from 4-5 but across the blade the hardness increases to 6-7 making it difficult to cut and polish. Kyanite is beautiful on its own, forming in beautiful blades that are perfect for energy work of all kinds. Kyanite has a beautiful energy for opening and activating the chakras. It does not accumulate negative energy but assists to dissipate it. This makes kyanite a perfect tool during healing sessions. Kyanite helps us open up assisting with spiritual and personal growth. Kyanite is one of the Archangel Michael's stones, and will not retain any kind of negativity. I think this is interesting, as the other well known stone that will not hold negativity is citrine, also one of Michael's stones!
